The Big Day!!

Graduation was a success!! My mom and dad came up for hooding the night before graduation. This is where the graduates receive their hoods which signify the school from which they are to get their degree. Mine was from the school of allied health sciences and everything was gold and blue.

The morning of graduation we celebrated some very special departmental awards and then proceeded to get lunch before gathering for the celebration as Sara would say. Then we met with Darrel's grandmother, mom and dad, and brother Ronnie. My brother in law and niece also came to support me at this special time.

Graduation went well. The arena was pretty full as over 800 students graduated from MCG in 2009. All talks given were brief and to the point. We walked across the stage to be handed our fake degrees (because we don't finish our program until August) and watched as other students received theirs. Then we took pictures and went to eat at a restaurant in Thomson. The atmosphere was very friendly and the food was good.

Now I only have 12 weeks to complete at Fort Gordon's Army Medical Center in the outpatient department until I complete all of the requirements for my degree.

I am very blessed to have such a wonderful family and support system that would travel out of the way to come and witness this event! Thanks to everyone;)) This was a very memorable moment in my life and I appreciate all that has been given to me.
